The London-Bawd: With Her Character and Life: Discovering the Various and Subtle Intrigues of Lewd Women

The London-Bawd, likely written in the early 18th century by an anonymous author, is a satirical examination of the life of a bawd—a woman who manages a brothel in London. The book humorously explores the manipulative and morally corrupt nature of its protagonist, detailing her interactions with pimps and prostitutes while highlighting the vices and intrigues of society. Through dark humor and moral commentary, it reveals the consequences of indulgence and the folly of those ensnared by her schemes.
