The High History of the Holy Graal

The High History of the Holy Graal, composed in the early 13th century in Old French by an unknown author, is a medieval romance that intertwines Arthurian legend with Christian symbolism. The narrative follows the quest of King Arthur's knights, particularly Sir Perceval, as they seek the Holy Grail, a vessel said to contain the blood of Christ. This work explores themes of chivalry, honor, and divine grace, reflecting the moral decline of Arthur's court and the personal redemptions of its characters. Its influence on later Arthurian romances and interpretations of the Grail legend is significant.
