The Golden Fleece: A Romance

The Golden Fleece: A Romance, published in 1892 by Julian Hawthorne, is a novel that blends adventure and romance against the backdrop of 19th-century American social life. The story revolves around General Trednoke and Professor Meschines as they engage in intellectual discussions and reminiscences, particularly about the mysterious Grace Parsloe, the daughter of a deceased woman. Themes of class, ambition, and identity are explored through the characters' interactions, which hint at unclaimed treasures linked to an Aztec legacy and set the stage for evolving relationships and potential romance.
