The Go Ahead Boys and the Treasure Cave

Four boys. One ship. A whole ocean of trouble waiting. Fred Button, John Clemens, Grant Jones, and George Washington Sanders are setting sail for Buenos Aires aboard the brig Josephine, dreaming of adventure and, somewhere in the distance, the promise of treasure. But the sea has other plans. A terrifying moment on deck when Fred slips and nearly falls overboard shatters their innocence. Then comes the storm. Then the fire. Then the desperate scramble into a lifeboat as everything they trusted disappears beneath the waves. This is an old-fashioned adventure that doesn't mollycoddle its young readers. The bonds that form when boys face real danger feel earned because they are. Ross Kay understood something essential about growing up: you become who you're going to be in the moments when everything falls apart. For readers who love rugged tales of friendship tested by fire and water.
