The Blessed Damozel

The Blessed Damozel is a poem by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, first published in 1850 in the Pre-Raphaelite journal The Germ. It explores themes of love, longing, and the afterlife through the perspective of a woman in heaven yearning for her earthly beloved. The poem is notable for its vivid imagery and emotional depth, contrasting the bliss of the afterlife with the sorrow of separation. Rossetti revised the poem multiple times, with later editions released in 1856, 1870, and 1873, solidifying its place in 19th-century English poetry.
