Sunny Boy in the Big City

The story opens on Sunny Boy leading his little army of friends down the street in a parade all their own. He is a boy who dreams of marching, of grand adventures, of the wide world beyond his familiar streets. When his family announces a trip to New York City, his imagination catches fire. The bustling metropolis awaits, and Sunny Boy is determined to meet it head-on. What follows is a charming procession through the wonders of early 20th-century Manhattan: towering buildings that scrape the sky, street vendors and strangers, the roar of the city that both thrills and overwhelms. With his parents at his side, Sunny Boy encounters a cast of vivid characters, stumbles into whimsical situations, and discovers what it means to be small in a very large world while remaining stubbornly, gloriously himself. This is a book for anyone who remembers the electric feeling of seeing a familiar world transformed by possibility, and for children who believe that the most ordinary street might lead somewhere extraordinary.
