Some Honeymoon!

A confirmed bachelor businessman meets a young woman on a transatlantic ship, proposes after a whirlwind romance, and marries in haste. But where most novels end with happily ever after, Charles Everett Hall's 1918 farce is just beginning. John Ryder and Ruth Mont arrive at Pinewood Inn for their honeymoon only to find disaster: guests are being kicked out, the bridge to the hotel has collapsed, and the staff is in open mutiny. Never one to let chaos reign, Ryder attempts to impose order with the same ruthless efficiency that built his business empire. But between eccentric fellow guests, suspicious new arrivals, and hints that his new bride may be hiding secrets, Ryder's honeymoon becomes less about romance and more about survival. The comedy escalates relentlessly, balancing social satire with romantic intrigue in a story that proves marriage, at least in this telling, is never simple. It's a fizzing, energetic farce from an era that knew how to mix laughter with romance.
