Six Plays

Six Plays, published in 1921 by Florence Henrietta Fisher, Lady Darwin, is a collection of rural dramas that authentically depict English country life. The plays focus on the lives and characters of the English peasantry, emphasizing dialogue over complex plots. Notable titles include 'Lovers' Tasks,' 'Bushes and Briars,' and 'The New Year,' which explore themes of romance, familial expectations, and community dynamics. The introduction provides context for the author's intent to portray these often-overlooked characters with respect and warmth.
