Scrimshaw
Scrimshaw is a science fiction novella by Murray Leinster, published in the September 1955 issue of Astounding Science Fiction. Set on the far side of the Moon, the story follows Pop Young, a caretaker of a mining colony who grapples with the traumatic loss of his family to a violent crime. As he attempts to recover his fragmented memories, he faces both the harsh lunar environment and a thief intent on stealing valuable diamonds, leading to a dramatic climax. The novella explores themes of memory recovery and human resilience in extreme conditions.
