Rossmoyne

Two elderly sisters, Miss Penelope and Miss Priscilla Blake, prepare to receive their niece Katherine's three children after her death. But Rossmoyne holds old wounds. Years earlier, the eldest Blake daughter was engaged to George Desmond, an engagement that ended in heartbreak and scandal, leaving fissures in the family that never quite healed. Now the children arrive, Monica, Terence, and the youngest, also named Katherine, to a household thick with nostalgia, unspoken grief, and the delicate work of assembling a broken family from the fragments of the past. The sisters must navigate their own losses while opening their doors to children who carry the burden of a tragedy they barely understand. As the children adapt to life at Rossmoyne, the shadow of the Desmond family lingers on the periphery, and old animosities threaten to resurface. This is a quietly devastating portrait of grief, duty, and the way history bleeds into the present. For readers who treasure the emotional depth of George Eliot and the quiet intensities of Elizabeth Gaskell.
