Probable Sons

Probable Sons is a novel by Amy Le Feuvre, first published in 1895. The story follows Sir Edward Wentworth, a confirmed bachelor who becomes the guardian of his orphaned niece, Milly. Initially resistant to the change, Sir Edward's life is transformed as Milly's innocence and faith challenge his distant demeanor, leading him to confront his own spiritual neglect. The narrative explores themes of love, responsibility, and redemption, paralleling Milly's favorite story of the Prodigal Son with Sir Edward's own journey of self-discovery.
