Police!!!

Police!!!
The great Percy Smith returns, and this time the zoo comes to him. Our intrepid zoologist, that lovable buffoon whose previous exploits already legendarily went sideways, finds himself pursued by police, mistaken for a murderer, and up to his waist in increasingly absurd adventures involving creatures that shouldn't exist and women who are far too dangerous for their own good. What begins as a straightforward expedition quickly spirals into a carnival of chaos: strange relics, mythical beasts, and the occasional beautiful stranger who may or may not be entirely human. Chambers delivers the kind of wild, energetic adventure that early science fiction did best, when the genre still wore its impossible ambitions on its sleeve and didn't apologize for them. It's funny in that charming turn-of-the-century way, when men were men and monsters were monsters and nobody thought to ask whether the native guide should really be climbing that mountain. For readers who want their adventures fast, strange, and slightly unhinged.
