My Lord Duke
Claude Lafont would rather write poetry than face his obligations, but death has other plans. The Duke of St. Osmund's has died, and Claude, an aspiring poet with no ambition for society, finds himself suddenly at the head of an aristocratic family he never wanted. His refined world collides with delightful chaos when his Australian cousin arrives: "Happy Jack," a rough-and-tumble man who loves cats and knows nothing of English manners. Together, these mismatched relatives must navigate inherited duty, familial expectations, and the absurdities of high society. Hornung, creator of the beloved Raffles stories, brings his trademark wit and satirical edge to this Victorian comedy of manners, exploring what we owe to family, station, and our own identities. The humor crackles through every social awkwardness, every clash between refinement and authenticity.
