Lost World
The Lost World is a 1912 novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that follows an expedition to a remote plateau in Venezuela, known as Tepuyes, where prehistoric creatures, including dinosaurs, still exist. The story introduces Professor Challenger, a character who becomes central to the narrative. While it is notable for being one of the first works of dinosaur-related fiction, much of the plot focuses on the conflict between early human hominids and a tribe of aggressive, ape-like beings. This blend of adventure and science fiction has influenced the genre significantly.
