Little Maid of Province Town

Little Maid of Province Town
The year is 1775. Eight-year-old Anne Nelson lives in Provincetown, at the very tip of Cape Cod, where the Atlantic crashes against the harbor and English warships prowl the waters. Her father is off fighting the Revolutionary War, and Anne has never been more determined in her young life: she will do her part to bring the war to an end and bring her father home. When a crucial message falls into her hands, one that could warn American troops of imminent danger, Anne must journey from Boston to Newburyport through territory thick with enemy redcoats. English ships patrol every harbor. The roads are dangerous. But an eight-year-old girl with courage enough to match her conviction might just be the most dangerous messenger the Revolution has ever known. This is historical adventure at its purest: a child's-eye view of America's founding moment, where the fate of a nation rests on small shoulders and a big heart.
