Le Monde Comme Il Va, Vision De Babouc

Le Monde Comme Il Va, Vision De Babouc is a philosophical satire by Voltaire, first published in 1746. The story follows Babouc, a Scythian tasked by the celestial being Ituriel to report on the moral state of Persia, which serves as a reflection of 18th-century French society. Through Babouc's observations of war, corruption, and societal hypocrisy, Voltaire critiques contemporary political norms and explores the complexities of human nature. The narrative blends satire with philosophical insights, making it a significant commentary on civilization and morality.
