Enchiridion

The Enchiridion, also known as the Handbook, is a concise collection of Stoic precepts compiled by Arrian from the teachings of the Greek philosopher Epictetus, who lived from approximately 50 to 135 AD. This work offers practical advice aimed at achieving tranquility of mind and soul through Stoic philosophy. Its influence has persisted through the ages, notably impacting figures like James Stockdale, who credited its teachings for his resilience during captivity as a prisoner of war. The Enchiridion remains a significant text in the study of Stoicism and practical philosophy.
