Dave Dashaway, Air Champion, or Wizard Work in the Clouds

The year is 1915. The sky belongs to the brave. Dave Dashaway has spent his young life mastering the art of flight, and now the ultimate test awaits: a high-stakes aviation contest where the prize is everything a young pilot could dream of. With his loyal friend Hiram Dobbs at his side, Dave takes to the clouds in his trusty biplane, outmaneuvering rivals and pushing his aircraft to its limits above open fields and makeshift airfields. The danger is real, mechanical failures, treacherous weather, and competitors who'll do anything to win. This is aviation at its rawest: no GPS, no radios, just nerve, skill, and the willingness to trust your life to wood and fabric and luck. Weldon Cobb captures the golden age of flight with pulse-pounding action and the boundless optimism of an era when touching the sky felt like conquering the impossible. Perfect for readers who love adventure, history, or the simple thrill of defying gravity.
