Camp Lenape on the Long Trail

At Camp Lenape, twelve-year-old Brick Ryan rules the Long Trail. Born to the woods with calloused hands and a quick temper, Brick knows exactly who he is until Dirk Van Horn arrives in a car full of trunks, dripping with privilege and completely unprepared for life without a valet. What begins as contempt a rich kid who doesn't know how to pitch a tent or start a fire slowly becomes something Brick never expected: a friendship that tests everything he thought he knew about loyalty, class, and what it really means to belong. Written in 1935, this is vintage summer camp fiction with teeth. The rivalry crackles. The wilderness feels genuinely dangerous. And the question at its heart still resonates: can two boys from opposite worlds find common ground, or will the trail break them apart first?
