Blackthorn Farm

Rupert Dale has gambled with his future and lost. Facing the results of his mining engineering examinations, knowing his family's sacrifices hang in the balance, he finds himself at a crossroads that feels more like a cliff edge. In a desperate attempt to reclaim what he's lost, he places his remaining hope on Paulus, a horse in a race that could redeem him or shatter him completely. As he waits, he reflects on the choices that brought him here: his relationship with Ruby Strode, the weight of his family's expectations, the creeping dread of failure. This is a compact, intense drama about a young man grasping for one last chance at salvation, where a single race might determine whether he rises or falls. The tension is not in what happens, but in the unbearable waiting before it does.
