Beach of Dreams
Published in the early 20th century, 'Beach of Dreams' by H. De Vere Stacpoole follows two sailors, Harbutt and Raft, as they navigate the challenges of working under a wealthy owner. The story intertwines their struggles with the lives of the occupants of the ship Gaston de Paris, particularly Prince Selm and his guests, Madame de Warens and her daughter Cleo. As a storm brews, tensions rise and fates intertwine, leading to questions about love, class, and survival at sea.
