A Select Collection of Old English Plays, Volume 01

A Select Collection of Old English Plays, Volume 01, first published in 1546, compiles early English dramatic works that had been overlooked. This revised and expanded volume presents a chronological arrangement of interludes and moral plays, reflecting the cultural and social landscape of the time. The collection begins with the 'Interlude of the Four Elements,' which humorously explores philosophical themes through personified characters. This anthology is notable for reviving significant works that shaped the evolution of English drama.
