A New Robinson Crusoe

A New Robinson Crusoe, written by W. L. Alden and first published in 1888, is a satirical novel that humorously reimagines the classic castaway story. The tale follows Mike Flanagan, a young Irishman who is shipwrecked with the eccentric Mr. Crusoe, who claims to be the grandson of the original Robinson Crusoe. As they navigate survival on a deserted island, the comedic interplay between the practical Mike and the delusional Mr. Crusoe highlights themes of absurdity, friendship, and the challenges of seafaring life.
