A Napa Christchild; and Benicia's Letters

A Napa Christchild; and Benicia's Letters, published in 1896 by Charles A. Gunnison, is a collection of Christmas stories set in the Napa Valley. The titular tale follows Crescimir, an Illyrian immigrant who encounters a mysterious golden-haired child on Christmas Eve, leading to themes of love, loneliness, and the joy of human connection. The book also includes 'Benicia's Letters,' which offers insights into the romantic aspirations of a character named Benicia. Gunnison's work reflects the intertwining of magical and everyday experiences during the holiday season.
