A Collection of Old English Plays, Volume 2

A Collection of Old English Plays, Volume 2 is a scholarly anthology of early modern English drama, first published in the late 19th century. This volume features both published and previously unpublished works, including contributions from playwrights like John Fletcher and Philip Massinger, alongside many anonymous pieces. Notably, it includes the play 'Dick of Devonshire,' which explores themes of valor, love, and societal values through the story of Richard Pike, a soldier facing political intrigue and conflict. The collection serves as a valuable resource for understanding the theatrical landscape and cultural context of the 1500-1600 period.
