A Christmas Carol; Or, The Miser's Warning!(adapted from Charles Dickens' Celebrated Work.)

This is the Victorian stage adaptation of Dickens's immortal tale, performed in the very year of the original's publication. C. Z. Barnett transforms the haunting moral fable into theatrical drama, bringing Scrooge's spectral journey from the page to the boards. The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge, the infamous miser who scorns Christmas and all who celebrate it, until one fateful night when the ghost of his dead partner Jacob Marley arrives in chains, warning of consequences to come. Three spirits then guide Scrooge through his past, present, and future, revealing his forgotten childhood, the struggling family of his clerk Bob Cratchit, and the lonely death that awaits him if he doesn't change. What follows is one of literature's most powerful transformations: the cold-hearted miser becoming a man of warmth and generosity. This 1843 adaptation captures the ghostly encounters and moral awakening in dramatic form, preserving the urgency and redemption that made Dickens's story an instant classic.
