Where Love Is

At a fashionable gathering where he clearly doesn't belong, struggling artist Jimmie Padgate draws the attention of Norma Hardacre, a beautiful woman whose cynicism masks something deeper. His frayed clothes and sincere outlook stand in sharp contrast to the polished superficiality surrounding them, and through their conversation, something unexpected ignites. What begins as an unlikely encounter becomes a tension between romantic possibility and the obligations of society, as Jimmie's unpretentious worldview slowly dismantles Norma's guarded armor. Written in 1903, this Edwardian romance explores whether love can truly transcend class, and whether two people from different worlds can find authentic connection in a society built on appearances.
