Troubled Waterssandy Steele Adventures #6

When fourteen-year-old Sandy Steele receives a sailboat from his eccentric uncle, he barely knows which end of a boom from which the wind blows. Fortunately, his friend Jerry James has the sailing experience Sandy desperately needs, and soon the two boys are charting a course for adventure along the coast. But their dream voyage takes a dark turn when they stumble upon a trail of counterfeit money and find themselves at the mercy of a dangerous man living alone on a private island. What begins as a carefree summer on the water becomes a test of courage, friendship, and quick thinking under impossible circumstances. Written in 1958 by a veteran author who knew both the sea and the hearts of young readers, this sixth installment in the Sandy Steele series captures the era when childhood meant independence, danger was real but conquerable, and a boat could carry you anywhere your imagination demanded.
