Treasure of Kings: Being the Story of the Discovery of the "Big Fish," or the Quest of the Greater Treasure of the Incas of Peru.

On a windswept Sussex beach, sixteen-year-old Dick Treadgold's ordinary life shatters when he encounters John Bannister, a man steeped in mystery and adventure, with tales of far-off lands and the legendary treasure of the Incas. Captivated by Bannister's stories, Dick finds himself drawn into a world he never imagined possible. But the quest for gold harbors darker currents: the nefarious Amos Baverstock will stop at nothing to reclaim a priceless map that holds the key to the Inca horde, and Dick's newfound excitement rapidly becomes a desperate fight for survival. What begins as innocent curiosity transforms into a harrowing escapade across continents, where danger lurks in every shadow and trust is a currency more precious than gold. This is adventure at its most elemental, a boy thrust beyond the boundaries of his safe world into a realm of treasure, treachery, and the question of what he's willing to risk for something greater than himself.
