The Wizard of West Pen: With: A Tale of the Land's-End

On the wildest night of the year, when winter storms lash the Cornwall coast and New Year's Eve brings ancient superstitions to life, a group of villagers huddles in a remote inn. They trade ghost stories to pass the hours until dawn. But their gathering takes a darker turn when Mr. Freeman, a conjurer both feared and fascination by the locals, is pressed to share his own tale. He speaks of ruined chapels and things seen in their shadows, of shipwrecks and strange occurrences that cling to his family name. The atmosphere is thick with tension as the storm outside mirrors the growing unease within. Forfar's novel weaves Cornwall's rugged folklore into a tale where the line between superstition and genuine horror grows increasingly difficult to discern. The village's close-knit gossip and local legend create a tapestry of dread that builds toward mysteries yet to unfold. Fans of Victorian Gothic, atmospheric regional fiction, and anyone drawn to stories where ancient lands and older superstitions refuse to stay buried will find much to unsettle them here.
