The Ramblin' Kid

The Ramblin' Kid, written by Earl Wayland Bowman and first published in 1920, is a Western novel set on a ranch in the American West. The story follows the carefree and adventurous Ramblin' Kid as he navigates ranch life, particularly the disruption caused by the arrival of two women, Carolyn June and her chaperone, Ophelia Cobb. The book humorously explores themes of male camaraderie and romantic entanglements in a predominantly male environment, making it a notable work in early 20th-century Western fiction.
