The Players
Musa is a trader in the ancient port city of Karth, a man who knows the value of a fair deal and the cost of a bad one. When he sets sail for the Eastern Sea, he carries cargo and ambition in equal measure. But the waters beyond Karth belong to more than merchants: the priests of the sea god Kondaro hold power over both commerce and conscience, and their eyes are upon Musa from the moment he chooses profit over piety. As he navigates a world where supernatural beliefs clash with advancing technology, Musa finds himself entangled in a dangerous game of political intrigue, religious fanaticism, and moral compromise. The sea offers wealth, but it also demands loyalty, and the priesthood of Kondaro does not forgive those who trade in forbidden waters. This is a novel about the price of ambition in a world where the old gods refuse to die quietly and new powers rise to challenge them.
