The Placid Pug, and Other Rhymes

The Placid Pug, and Other Rhymes is a collection of whimsical children's poetry by Alfred Bruce Douglas, first published in 1906. The poems use light-hearted verse to explore themes of animal behavior and societal norms through clever wordplay and humor. Notable for its anthropomorphic depictions, the collection features various animals, such as the titular pug, to reflect on human attitudes and characteristics, inviting readers to both chuckle and contemplate deeper meanings.
