The Pioneer Boys on the Great Lakes; Or, on the Trail of the Iroquois
1912
Two brothers, Bob and Sandy Armstrong, are coming of age on the Ohio frontier in this rip-roaring adventure from 1912. When alarming shouts shatter the peace of their settlement, the boys rush home to find their father injured and their mother trembling with fear. The threat of Indian attack hangs over everything, and the community braces for conflict. As political tensions between settlers and Native tribes escalate, the Armstrong boys must grow from children into protectors almost overnight. Their budding skills as woodsmen will be tested against the harsh realities of frontier life. They will not face these trials alone: the legendary Daniel Boone himself appears to guide them, alongside the wily Irish trapper Pat O'Mara. This is frontier America at its most thrilling: a world where courage is tested daily, where the line between survival and tragedy is razor-thin, and where two young brothers must find the strength to defend everything they love.
