Three girls stake their summer home on a shipwreck stranded on the shores of Lake Superior, and the isolated island paradise quickly becomes a stage for the uncanny. Petite Jeanne, Florence, and Greta have no idea what awaits them when they choose the rotting hulk of a half-sunken vessel as their temporary haven. Strange boats prowl the waters around them. Visitors arrive with unclear intentions. And then comes the music: ethereal violin strains drifting from the ridge above, beautiful and impossible, played by hands that may or may not belong to the living. As the girls explore the rugged beauty of Isle Royale, they find themselves drawn deeper into a mystery that tests their courage and their friendship. The phantom violinist haunts the island, and someone on those shores has secrets worth protecting. This is old-fashioned adventure at its most atmospheric: a sun-drenched summer that curdles into unease, three bold girls refusing to be frightened off, and a ghost story that whispers rather than shouts.
