The Lost Oases

In 1925, an Egyptian explorer answered a question the desert had kept secret for centuries: where did the lost oases of Arkenu and Ouenat disappear to? What began as a journey of two thousand miles through the Libyan Desert becomes something far richer than mere cartography. Ahmad Muhammad Hasanayn writes with the precision of a surveyor and the soul of a poet, rendering the desert not as emptiness but as a living presence - vast, silent, and sometimes cruel, yet capable of staggering beauty under moonlit skies. He and his caravan face treacherous terrain, vanishing water supplies, and the disorienting mysteries of a landscape that has claimed explorers before them. But this is no mere adventure narrative. Through his encounters with Bedouin tribes, Hasanayn reveals a world of ancient knowledge, profound faith, and hospitality that exists in harmony with one of Earth's most unforgiving environments. The rediscovery of these oases becomes both a physical triumph and a meditation on what we seek when we venture into the unknown - and what finds us instead.
