The Isle of Dead Ships, published in 1909 by Crittenden Marriott, is a science fiction novel set on a mysterious floating island made of wrecked ships in the Sargasso Sea. The story follows Frank Howard, a convict, and Dorothy Fairfax, a young woman entangled in danger and intrigue as they confront their pasts and fight for survival after their ship crashes into the isle. Notable for its themes of isolation and trust, the novel was originally serialized in The Scrap Book and has been adapted into film twice, in 1923 and 1929.
