The Good Ship Rover

The Good Ship Rover, written by Robina F. Hardy and first published in 1888, is a children's novel that explores the adventures and dreams of two young boys, Harry and Walter. Set against the backdrop of their limited experiences with the sea, the story follows their imaginative pursuits as they attempt to launch their toy ship, the 'Rover.' The narrative highlights themes of friendship, childhood aspirations, and selflessness, particularly as Harry, who is confined due to health issues, learns to find joy in Walter's sailing adventures despite his own limitations.
