The Fixer
The Fixer is a mid-20th century science fiction novel by George O. Smith, set on the alien planet Telfu. The story follows Sandra Drake, a human who aids the native Telfans in combating a deadly airborne disease called andryorelitis. As she collaborates with Telfan scientists, the novel explores themes of scientific experimentation, survival, and cross-cultural interactions. Notable for its examination of identity and the moral complexities of scientific progress, it was first published in Astounding Science Fiction.
