The Boy Scouts on the Range
The Boy Scouts on the Range
Three Boy Scouts trade their uniforms for cowboy hats in this rollicking early adventure. Rob Blake, Corporal Merritt Crawford, and Tubby Hopkins arrive in the small Arizona town of Mesaville with invitations to Mr. Harkness's cattle ranch, dreaming of desert skies and frontier excitement. They get more than they bargained for when a run-in with a group of rude cow-punchers turns into a full-blown skirmish, with quick-thinking Rob leading the charge. But the real test looms on the horizon: rumors of Moqui Indians in the area threaten to turn this summer adventure into something far more dangerous. As the desert heat rises, the boys must draw on every scouting skill they've learned to face what comes next. Goldfrap captures the era when being a Boy Scout meant something, when a group of kids could ride into the wild and prove they had what it takes to handle whatever the frontier threw at them.
