Saved at Sea
Alick has never known anything but the lighthouse. Born during a furious storm that killed his mother, he has spent his entire life on the rock with his grandfather, the keeper. He has wished desperately for something to change, for some excitement beyond the endless sea. Then one night, a ship founders in the breakers. Alick and his grandfather risk everything to help, and in the chaos, they discover something unexpected: a baby girl, alone and crying. Who are her parents? Did they drown in the storm? As the lighthouse community searches for answers, the little girl they call 'Timpey' begins to weave herself into their isolated world, filling a void none of them knew existed. But the title carries a deeper meaning too, for as the lighthouse stands firm against the waves, Alick and his grandfather must ask whether their own souls are anchored on something even more secure. A tender Victorian tale of rescue, belonging, and the search for something to hold onto when the storms of life rage.
