Regenta (Tomo II)
Published in the late 19th century, 'La Regenta' by Leopoldo García-Alas is regarded as one of the most significant Spanish novels, second only to 'Don Quijote'. This extensive work features over 100 well-developed characters and follows the life of Doña Ana Ozores, known as 'La Regenta', who navigates her unfulfilling marriage and the affections of two suitors, Don Álvaro Mesía and Don Fermín de Pas. The novel has faced political censorship due to its perceived immorality, yet it remains a critical exploration of societal norms and personal desires in the fictional city of Vetusta.
