Regeneration

In a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has forgotten its own past, a tribe discovers an artifact from the ruins of civilization: an automatic dishwasher. They name it Thor. Builder, an old man dedicated to guiding his people toward progress, watches in horror as his tribe begins worshipping the machine as a god while he races to complete a dam that could secure their survival. His only true adversary isn't the harsh wilderness, but Thougor, the priest who weaponizes faith and ritual to seize power. As the tribe performs ceremonies before their new deity, Builder must fight not just for infrastructure, but for the very concept of rational thought in a world that has circled back to superstition. The novel builds to a satirical climax that exposes the fragility of belief and the irony of human understanding. Dye's tale is a sharp, often darkly funny examination of how easily progress collapses, how quickly reason gives way to myth, and how the artifacts of one era become the gods of the next.
