Rebel Spurs

The war is over. The Confederacy is dead. And Drew Rennie has nothing left but a thoroughbred stallion, a pregnant mare, and a name that means nothing anymore. In 1866, Arizona is where men go to disappear. Drew arrives in the dusty town of Tubacca with nothing but an alias - Drew Kirby - and a secret: his father is Hunt Rennie, the legendary Don Cazar, owner of the finest ranch in the territory. But kinship with a man like that isn't a claim you can make lightly. Not when you're a defeated rebel with nothing to your name. Not when the only proof you carry is stolen in the night, leaving you arrested for horse-thieving, your future hanging on the trust of a man who doesn't know you exist. This is a novel about what happens to men when everything they've known is burned away, and they must build themselves from nothing. It's about fathers and sons, about the weight of a name, about starting over when the world tells you you're nothing. Norton writes the post-Civil War West as a place of both ruin and redemption, where a man can become new or die trying.
