Polaris and the Goddess Glorian

Polaris Janess was born in the white silence of the far Antarctic, raised by his explorer father and the wilderness alone. When his father dies, the young man called 'Polaris-of-the-Snows' takes his dead parent's scientific findings and drives his dog team northward toward a civilization he has never known. What he finds instead is Rose Emer, an American heiress perishing in the ice, and together they are swept toward something far stranger than any city: a hidden valley called Sardanes, warmed by volcanic fires and populated by two thousand souls who are the last descendants of ancient Greece, cut off from the world for centuries. What begins as a tale of survival becomes a story of love, betrayal, and an impossible return journey to save a kingdom doomed by dying flames. This is adventure fiction in the grand pulp tradition: sweeping, romantic, and unapologetically grand in its scope.
