Nada the Lily

Nada the Lily
Nada the Lily, written by H. Rider Haggard in the late 19th century, is a novel set in the Zulu Kingdom of present-day KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The story, narrated by Mopo, a witch-doctor to the legendary Zulu king Chaka, revolves around themes of love and revenge, featuring a cast of entirely black African characters, which is notable for literature of the British Empire. The novel intertwines fictional elements with actual historical events and continues the spirit of Haggard's popular Alan Quatermain series. It was republished in the 1970s as part of the Newcastle Forgotten Fantasy Library.
