Mr. President

George Wong didn't want the job. Nobody told him he'd be terrified the moment he won. Elected President of the Solar Union, the governing body of Earth's colonies across the solar system, Wong discovers that leadership isn't the triumph he imagined. It's the weight of billions of lives pressing down on every decision. An alien race called the Gnii delivers an ultimatum: comply with their demands or face the consequences. His generals want to send ships into deadly territory. His advisors want compromise. And Wong, the man who just wanted to do right by his constituents, must decide whether to risk millions of lives for principles he believes in, or become the leader he never wanted to be. Written in the paranoid, atomic-age atmosphere of early 1950s science fiction, Mr. President is a tense meditation on power, fear, and the terrible burden of being the one who chooses.
