Mr. Keegan's Elopement is a novella by American author Winston Churchill, first published in 1896. The story follows Ensign John Pennington's daring attempt to elope with his beloved, Eleanor Inglefield, against her father's wishes. Set in the picturesque Madeira Islands, the narrative combines humor and romance as Pennington's friend, Dennis Keegan, devises a plan to facilitate their escape. This work is notable as Churchill's first published story, later republished in 1903 after the success of his earlier novels.
