More Tish

Tish is fifty years old and absolutely ungovernable. When she decides to acquire a donkey and retrace Robert Louis Stevenson's journey through the Cevennes, her two devoted friends Aggie and Lizzie have no choice but to follow along, straight into chaos, mild peril, and increasingly questionable decisions made in the name of romance, justice, or Art. What begins as a whimsical walking tour becomes a cascade of mishaps: firearms accidents, accidental kidnappings of local officials, and an escalating series of near-disasters that somehow, through sheer improbable luck, always resolve in everyone's favor. Rinehart's prose crackles with comic energy, and Tish emerges as a magnificent force of nature, irresponsible, fearless, and endlessly entertaining. This is comfort reading at its finest: a warm, witty escape into a world where the best-laid plans go spectacularly wrong and nobody is ever really hurt. Perfect for readers who need something bright and undemanding between heavier reads, or anyone who delights in watching a force of nature upend polite society with the best of intentions.
