Mind Amongst the Spindles
Mind Amongst the Spindles is a collection of works from the Lowell Offering, a periodical published between 1840 and 1845 that featured poetry and fiction by female textile workers in Lowell, Massachusetts. This anthology highlights the voices of the Lowell Mill Girls, young women aged 15-35, who used their writing to reflect on their experiences and the conditions of their labor. The contributions range from serious to humorous, providing insight into the lives of women in one of the largest industrial complexes in the United States during the 19th century.
